You can call me Sengo. I was born and raised in Seattle WA to a Tanzanian father of [[Sukuma]], [[Chagga]], and [[Maasai]] descent, and an Afro-Caribbean mother from [[Jamaica]]. I come from a paternal lineage of Chagga kings (known as Mangi’s) of the K[[ingdom of Moshi]] on [[Kilimanjaro]], along with Tanzanian diplomats, revolutionaries, and ambassadors who were instrumental in the liberation of [[Zimbabwe]], [[Mozambique]], [[Zaire]], [[Uganda]], and [[Namibia]]/[[South Africa]]. My maternal lineage is [[Jamaican Maroons]] from St. Elizabeth Parish and US Navy veterans from Kingston.<br />

I am 18 years old and have been interested in everything related to [[Africa]], along with music theory, theology, philosophy, anthropology, and linguistics since I went back to the motherland for the first time as a child. Seeing and hearing the struggles of our people firsthand along with knowing where I come from made me realize I have a duty to Africans, and a legacy to uphold. I am planning on joining the [[Chama cha Mapinduzi]] in two months and participating in other organizations in the DMV area.<br />

I consider myself a Nkrumahist-Tureist, a Philosophical Consciencist, and a Garveyite. My biggest influences are [[Julius Nyerere]] and his philosophy of Ujamaa, [[Marcus Garvey]], and [[Cheikh Anta Diop]]. My plans are to educate Tanzanians in the homeland on Ujamaa and organize them to make waves within the party for change, as well as starting a Caribbean grassroots organization.<br />
