94. The Expansion (Al-Inshirah)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

¹

Have We not expanded for thee thy breast,

²

And removed from thee thy burden,

³

Which weighed down thy back,

⁴

And exalted for thee thy mention?

⁵

Surely with difficulty is ease,

⁶

With difficulty is surely ease:

⁷

So when thou art free (from anxiety), work hard,

⁸

And make thy Lord thy exclusive object.
