The term New Afrikan reflects a unified Pan African identity, purpose, direction of Afrikans born in the western hemisphere. Although Afrikan people come from distinct ethno-linguistic groups in Afrika and the Afrikan Diaspora, shared oppression and the interdependence of liberation links all Afrikans. [1] The term represents a nationality for people in the west who were stripped of their nationality during Mfecane and subsequent enslavement.
