111. The Flame (Al-Lahab)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.l Abu Lahab's hands will perish and he will perish. ²

His wealth and that which he earns will not avail him.

He will burn in fire giving rise to flames --

And his wife the bearer of slander;

⁵

Upon her neck a halter of twisted rope!
